Ultimate Guide to Antalya International Airport (AYT) for Tourists

Antalya International Airport (AYT) is the primary gateway to Turkey’s world-famous Mediterranean Riviera. Ranking as one of the busiest airports in Europe, it connects millions of holidaymakers directly to stunning coastal resorts like Lara, Belek, Side, Alanya, Kemer, and Kas.

Whether you are arriving for an all-inclusive resort getaway or departing after a perfect sunny holiday, here is everything you need to know about navigating Antalya Airport with ease.

Departing from Antalya: Check-In & Security

Antalya Airport has two separate international terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Be sure to check your flight ticket beforehand to head to the correct terminal building.

1. Initial Security Check

Before entering the main check-in hall, all passengers must pass through an initial security screening and baggage scan right at the entrance doors. Keep your passport and flight details handy.

2. Check-In & Bag Drop

When to arrive: Antalya Airport handles massive passenger volumes. It is strongly recommended to arrive at least 3 hours before international flights during the peak summer season (June to September).

Desks: Flight information screens located right past the main entrance will guide you to your airline's designated check-in counters.

Online Check-In: If you have checked in online and only carry hand luggage, you can skip the desks and head upstairs to passport control, depending on your airline’s policy.

3. Passport Control & Second Security

After dropping off your bags, take the escalators to the upper level. You will go through Passport Control first, followed immediately by the main security screening before entering the duty-free departures lounge.

 Duty-Free & Shopping (Free Shop)

Antalya Airport features massive, state-of-the-art Duty-Free shopping zones operated by Dufry / Nuance.

What to Buy: An immense selection of international luxury cosmetics, perfumes, designer accessories, spirits, and confectionery. There are also dedicated Turkish marketplaces offering premium local olive oils, traditional Turkish delights (lokum), high-quality teas, spices, and souvenirs.

Arrivals Duty-Free: If you want to grab drinks, tobacco, or cosmetics right after landing, a smaller Duty-Free shop is conveniently located in the Baggage Reclaim area just before you exit the airport.

Payment Options: Euros (€), British Pounds (£), US Dollars ($), and Turkish Lira (TL) are widely accepted, alongside all major international debit and credit cards.

Arriving at Antalya: Passport Control & Meeting Point

1. Passport Control & Visa

Upon landing, follow the crowds and signs toward the Passport Control hall.

Important Note: Check Turkey’s visa policies for your nationality prior to departure. Many European and UK nationals enjoy visa-free entry. If you require an e-Visa, ensure you obtain it beforehand via the official Turkish government website.

2. Baggage Claim

Once your passport is stamped, head down to the spacious baggage reclaim hall. Overhead electronic screens will display your flight number next to the designated luggage carousel. Luggage trolleys are readily available.

3. Passenger Meeting & Greeters Area (Yolcu Karþýlama)

After clearing customs, you will exit the sliding doors into the vibrant, outdoor Passenger Meeting Point.

If you have booked an  private transfer, your driver or rep will be waiting outside holding a signboard with your name or the company's logo.

The arrivals area is equipped with multiple multi-currency ATMs, cafes, and official mobile provider stores (Turkcell, Vodafone) where you can instantly purchase a local prepaid tourist SIM card for data.
